Rosso Horse by Jonty Hurwitz – £27,000

    Paint, Copper and Stainless Steel

    40x40x45cm

Jonty Hurwitz’s sculpture is inspired by his early childhood experiences with the animal kingdom and his years spent with horses on the narrow bridle path near his home in the English countryside. It serves as a meditation on freedom by symbolising the suppressed inner nature of domesticated animals. Through this creative work of art, Hurwitz captures the wild spirit of horses, while simultaneously highlighting the irony of a world where they are largely ‘owned’. The sculpture honors the idea that horses, and other domesticated creatures, possess an in-built understanding of independence, freedom and self-sufficiency in spite of the disconnection of modern civilization from nature. This unique artwork explores the bond between the animal and its natural habitat, the power of freedom and its lack, and the ways in which our modern scientific civilization attempts to rein it in.

  • Cernunnos by Anne Schwegmann-Fielding – £18,000

    Cernunnos by Anne Schwegmann-Fielding – £18,000

Cernunnos is an ancient Celtic Deity and protector of the Forest. As a mediator of man and nature, now seemed more relevant than ever to create such a protector.

    157cm H x 90cm W x 80cm D
Recycled vintage plates, mirror and 24 karat gold on glass fragments

Made entirely from hand cut fragments of chipped and broken British plates, the white shards are often the “waste” pieces once the patterned has been selected for its colour and design. Familiar names including Spode, Wedgewood and Burleigh ware see their patterns and makers marks combined to create contemporary sculptures from ancient ceramics.

For Cernunnos, with his wildlife and landscape under threat, the white remains, with hints of colour celebrating nature on his cheeks and on the reverse, depicting the flora and fauna of our world.

*Ideal in an interior setting, where he can greet anyone in an entrance hall or hotel lobby. He can also live outside, but should be covered in the winter months to protect from frost.

    Ass Kicking

    Material: Stainless & Cor-Ten Steel

Dimensions: Very large, sizes can be provided (please ask)

A donkey set free, unburdened, and as if the voice given it by Dionysus allows it to communicate its deep knowledge and intellectual prowess to the world, it throws its back legs up in celebration.

The donkey is associated with determination, intelligence, and humility. It is often seen as a symbol of service and self-sacrifice, being used for carrying heavy loads and assisting humans for thousands of years. Often underestimated, the donkey is resilient and strong, symbolising the ability to endure hardship and keep moving forward.

The donkey is also associated with stubbornness, known to dig its heels in and refuse to move when it senses danger or feels mistreated.

This is a humorous, playful piece full of fun and echoes of childhood memory.
