The Sunset Surfer by Pete Rogers – £2,600

    The sunset surfer

Stainless steel with heat patinated stainless steel

    H 138 x W 100 x D 125 Frame on ground
    Spikes provided.

The sunset surfer is hand fabricated from stainless steel. To make the sinuous wave shape more interesting, it is heavily textured with grooves and scuffs and then heat patinated. The heat patination process creates metallic oxides on the surface of the metal. Stainless steel, like iron, creates several oxides, where it combines with increasing numbers of oxygen atoms, to give straw, magenta, blue and red colours. These colours occur because the oxide thickness is the same as the light wavelength of the particular spectrum colour.

This colouration is permanent and can survive outdoors but DO NOT RUB OR USE ANY CLEANING agents as it is only a molecule thick. The deep grooving makes different thicknesses in the metal which encourages the temperature differences to get the variety of colours.

    Wind Ball Cubed

    Andrew Lee:

them inside the strength and geometric solidity of a stainless steel frame.”

  • Wind Cloud by Andrew Lee – £7,750

Wind Cloud by Andrew Lee – £7,750

    Wind Cloud

    Andrew Lee:
“The largest of my free-standing sculptures, Wind Cloud divides space into a three-dimensional grid
where at each point there are telltales free to align with the wind direction. The telltales are all
identical so the wind acts uniformly on them, thereby helping to reveal a clear depiction of the
    wind’s movement.
Support structure is kept to a minimum not only to allow the wind unencumbered access but also to
focus the viewer’s attention on the beauty of the wind rather than the appearance of the object.
    Unique”

344 stainless steel foil telltales. Stainless steel wires, clips, links, hexagon ‘corners’. Carbon fibre rods

    10mm and 12mm dia.
    2m x 1.7m x 3m high

  • Cutlery Owl by Rich Bindon – £550

Cutlery Owl by Rich Bindon – £550

    Cutlery Owl

    Stainless steel cutlery
    25cm including stand
    Open edition

Rich Bindon on the story behind the sculpture:
“I grew up on a smallholding in Wootton Bassett and spent most of my youth exploring local fields and woodland with my friends; building dens and tree houses, we would often see barn owl’s in the early evening patrolling the hedges and fields, along with tawny owls.

Male Barn Owls would sometimes screech whilst we explored woodland and as kids, it used to terrify us!

I have passed on my love for Owls to my daughter Madi – She has been to the Hawk Conservancy in Andover many times and has participated in the owl experiences on offer.”

Kingfisher with a fishy by Rich Bindon – £460

Kingfisher with a fishy on reeds.

Stainless Steel and mild steel re-bar reeds.
    180cm
    Open edition.

Rich Bindon on the story behind this sculpture:
“My late father owned an engineering business for 40+ years, due to the recession in the early 1980’s he had some free time on his hands so decided to make himself a 70ft narrow boat. It was called ‘The Iron Maiden’, in reference to Maggie Thatcher. My Dad had been an electrician in the merchant navy in his younger years, I believe he still had ambitions to captain his own boat!
After 4 years ‘The Iron Maiden’ was completed. it was moored on the canal at Thrupp, Oxfordshire.

We had many family holidays and weekends away cruising the canals and the Thames during the summer. In the evenings after tea I would sit on the roof of the boat fishing for perch and It was not uncommon to see kingfishers patrolling the canal banks, occasionally they would be brave enough to share my fishing spot which was amazing. I will always remember these times fondly, hence my love of the kingfisher.”

  • Robins on fork handles by Rich Bindon – £285

Robins on fork handles by Rich Bindon – £285

    Robins on fork handles.

Stainless steel and hardwood fork handle.
    85cm.
    Open edition.

Rich Bindon on why he created this sculpture:
“My Grandmother used to live next door to us in Wootton Bassett, her garden was huge and contained chicken coops, a greenhouse and a large unused shed which contained rusty Victorian gardening tools, anvils, tin baths etc. It was completely overgrown inside with vines, ivy and cobwebs.
The whole garden was great to explore, A resident Robin (who lived in the ivy filled shed) was always hopping around and I would watch him perch on a fork or spade to oversee my Grandmother at work in the garden.”

  • Songbird by Rich Bindon – £1,150

Songbird by Rich Bindon – £1,150

    Songbird

    Stainless Steel.
    80cm.
    Edition 1-1.

    For outdoor or interior spaces.

    Materials:
Both the Stave lines, notes and 12’’ LP base are made from stainless steel, the singing Reed Warbler is also made from good quality stainless steel cutlery, each note was marked out and cut by hand, the artist made jigs to enable him to bend the staves so they are identical.

The base was bolted to a hand made jig so it could be held in a lathe for the record lines to be added.

    Rich Bindon:
“The notes in the scale are from the 2002 Oasis song ‘Songbird’. (‘’Talking to the Songbird Yesterday’’) Oasis was one of my favourite bands from the 90’s.
I feel that people viewing the piece will instantly understand the connection between a singing bird and the completed piece, with its record LP base and musical notes. The added twist being the notes are from an actual piece of music titled Songbird!”

    Commissions of this piece:
This sculpture could be recreated for unique commissions! eg. as a wedding gift with the ‘first dance’ as the sculptures attached notes. The possibilities are endless!
