    Much Admired Too

    Bronze with a stone patina
    41 x 36 x 13cm
    Edition of 9

Taking inspiration from a thoroughbred horse that I ride; the title of this piece reflects his
“look at me”; demeanour. I hope to have captured his soulful and thought-provoking gaze.
The grey dappled patina is achieved by brushing on various salts and oxides onto the bronze
    surface under heat.

    “Outstretched”

    Bronze
    28 x 34 x 14cm
    Edition of 9

This bronze sculpture was inspired by a lovely thoroughbred mare whose fine skin reveals
her beautiful anatomy and musculature. In this pose she is gracefully stretching forward
eluding her grace and athleticism. In the words of John Galsworthy “I am still under the
impression that there is nothing alive quite so beautiful as a thoroughbred horse”

Freedom by Helen Greene – £4,950

    Freedom
    Bronze with a Verdigris Patina

The “In flight” stage happens once a horse has left the ground whilst jumping and this total
freedom inspired me to make this sculpture. “All four feet off the ground” horses jump with
such power and grace and this is what I have tried to capture.

Made in bronze with a Verdigris patina this sculpture looks as good displayed indoors or as
    an outdoor sculpture.

    Bronze
    H: 37cm, W: 50cm, D: 10cm

Fragile Strength by Glen Farrelly – £1,995

Fragile Strength, 2024, Storm Fallen Alder, Yakisugi Technique, Cold pressed Linseed Oil, 155cm high

This wonderful wood has been traditionally used to make boats as it has an amazing ability to withstand water. As with many trees in Britain, it is at risk from our human activity, encroaching on greenbelts, tree clearing for building, our impact on the enviroment gives these incredible trees a fragile strength.

I work with reclaimed and storm fallen timber using an ancient Japanese technique called Yakisugi. This method preserves the wood – Yaki means to heat with fire, and sugi is cypress. By slightly charring the surface of the wood without combusting the whole piece, the wood becomes waterproof through the carbonisation and is thus more durable. It also protects against insects, as well as making the wood fire retardant. All my work aims to be as sustainable as possible and I will only use natural materials.
