Pinecone Vase by Renee Kilburn £1500

    Unique
    Stoneware
    43×30 cm

“This Pine Cone Vase is handmade using the coil technique. It takes 3 days to build the form and another day to shape the seeds and attach them. The piece needs firming up sufficiently between the stages to take weight of the added clay.
I use a corse stoneware body and my pieces can be left outside through winter.”           – Renee Kilburn

This pinecone vase fits Renee’s assortment of ceramic flowers perfectly. It’s almost as if they were made for each other!

  • Assorted Ceramic Flowers by Renee Kilburn

Assorted Ceramic Flowers by Renee Kilburn

“My range of stoneware flowers with iron stems is growing and I repeat the designs, but as they are handmade and hand painted, slight differences will occur.

Customers come to me with their or a loved one’s favourite flower and ask if I can make it as a tribute.

I was asked to make poppies in 2018 for the RHS garden Rosemoor. 100 poppies were placed around a sculpture of the unknown soldier to commemorate the end of WW1 and I made and sold a total of 750 poppies, raising £2000 for the Poppy Appeal.

I had help from my 2 young children rolling slabs of clay and cutting petals, and my husband cut and ground the stems.”                                 – Renee Kilburn

  • Cernunnos by Anne Schwegmann-Fielding – £18,000

    Cernunnos by Anne Schwegmann-Fielding – £18,000

Cernunnos is an ancient Celtic Deity and protector of the Forest. As a mediator of man and nature, now seemed more relevant than ever to create such a protector.

    157cm H x 90cm W x 80cm D
Recycled vintage plates, mirror and 24 karat gold on glass fragments

Made entirely from hand cut fragments of chipped and broken British plates, the white shards are often the “waste” pieces once the patterned has been selected for its colour and design. Familiar names including Spode, Wedgewood and Burleigh ware see their patterns and makers marks combined to create contemporary sculptures from ancient ceramics.

For Cernunnos, with his wildlife and landscape under threat, the white remains, with hints of colour celebrating nature on his cheeks and on the reverse, depicting the flora and fauna of our world.

*Ideal in an interior setting, where he can greet anyone in an entrance hall or hotel lobby. He can also live outside, but should be covered in the winter months to protect from frost.

  • The Strength Within by Renee Kilburn – £3,500

The Strength Within by Renee Kilburn – £3,500

45 cm wide and 80 cm tall
    Frost proof Ceramic
    Unique

    ‘The Strength Within’
This piece is coiled into a female shape resembling a tree with cut off branches instead of
arms. As a woman our instinct is to grow and nurture, be patient and care for those around
us, despite our circumstances and what might happen to us.

Like a tree in the forest that becomes an ecosystem for birds, insects and other animals,
even when experiencing trauma it is still a safe haven. It has an inner cyclical life force, as
    do a woman.

With all my work, I have an original idea that then might change as the build emerges and
continues. It has a life of it’s own and I am merely the facilitator.

  • Flower Bird Bath by Renee Kilburn – £3,500

Flower Bird Bath by Renee Kilburn – £3,500

46 cm wide and 75 cm tall
    Frost proof ceramic
    Unique

    ‘Flower Bird Bath’
“The flower dish is slab built while the base is coiled. All the details are hand made and
    added one by one.

My aim is to make it look as if the birdbath is growing out of the ground l with the bottom trim
resembling the soil and the leaves and flowers grow around the stem of the flower above.
The dish can be lifted off and the base has a hole in the bottom so it doesn’t fill up with
    water.”

All of Renee Kilburn Ceramics pieces are beautiful and original works of art that give joy to the owner by evoking a smile or memory of a loved one. With passion for colour and form Renée creates frost proof and non fading flowers and sculptures that bring vibrancy and colour to homes and gardens all year round.

  • A Quiet Place by Jill Desborough – £685

A Quiet Place by Jill Desborough – £685

    A Quiet Place
    Ceramic with vine tendrils
    25cm ht x 13cm width

A small sculpture that grew from the need for a safe and quiet emotional space for retreat and reflection in a very noisy and fractious world. I use rabbits sometimes in sculptural works,  partially as I have them as companions, and also they are usually extremely quiet animals so seemed appropriate for the essence of this work.
