    120cm tall on a 40cm tall stand

    Unfurling depicts the wonderous potential of unfolding into something new and exciting. Largely inspired by the gorgeous verdant woodlands of the Wye Valley where Gemma lives.
    Organic, intricate designs are cut out of the brushed steel creating a lovely contrast from the rusted Corten surface.
    The fused glass has the jewel like quality of rain drops when the sun shines through them.

    It cleverly changes from one moment to the next reminding us that every second is unique and special.
    Gemma’s intricate designs are cut out of a central brushed steel ring and the glass glows throughout the day depending on how the light falls upon it.
    Designed to be a strong point.
    It can be placed both in an indoor or outdoor setting.

    “This Pine Cone Vase is handmade using the coil technique. It takes 3 days to build the form and another day to shape the seeds and attach them. The piece needs firming up sufficiently between the stages to take weight of the added clay.
    I use a corse stoneware body and my pieces can be left outside through winter.”           – Renee Kilburn
     

    This pinecone vase fits Renee’s assortment of ceramic flowers perfectly. It’s almost as if they were made for each other!

    “My range of stoneware flowers with iron stems is growing and I repeat the designs, but as they are handmade and hand painted, slight differences will occur.

    Customers come to me with their or a loved one’s favourite flower and ask if I can make it as a tribute.

    I was asked to make poppies in 2018 for the RHS garden Rosemoor. 100 poppies were placed around a sculpture of the unknown soldier to commemorate the end of WW1 and I made and sold a total of 750 poppies, raising £2000 for the Poppy Appeal.

    I had help from my 2 young children rolling slabs of clay and cutting petals, and my husband cut and ground the stems.”                                 – Renee Kilburn
