Part of the story keepers series
“I create ceramic sculptures that explore the quiet intensity of human connection — with animals, myth, and the inner self. My figures often wear animal masks or appear entwined with animals, suggesting companionship, instinct, and transformation. Through texture and gesture, I aim to evoke stillness, emotion, and the sense of a story quietly remembered.
“I make these pots in the hope that they will become keepers of family stories , love notes , silly jokes, memories and superstitions and that they in turn become a well loved treasure” – Jane Flint
Perched quietly atop a weathered pot, Raven captures a moment of quiet concentration. The figure, with the head of a raven and the body of a young person, sits absorbed in a small book, blending the worlds of nature and imagination.
The contrast between the delicate, attentive posture and the unusual bird form gives the piece a whimsical, storybook quality.
