Frosty Morning is a mosaic cube inspired by the colours of a winter’s frosty morning. It has a gold thread running around each face with two of the corners deliberately broken off to indicate the fragility of the form.
The cube is made of tile backer board and is mosaiced with vitreous glass tiles and grouted using 3 part epoxy grout. All materials used are frost proof and are suitable for outdoor display. The cube sits on a sturdy painted metal stand.

Pick Me captures a playful and hopeful moment as a young figure reaches upward with a bright flower held high. Balancing on a ladder, the character’s simple, stylised form conveys curiosity, determination and a touch of childhood optimism. Allan’s expressive texture and gentle humour invite viewers to reflect on growth, aspiration and the joy found in small, uplifting gestures within the garden landscape.

Perched quietly within the landscape, Birdman captures a gentle moment of connection between human and nature. The elongated figure extends his arm as a bird rests calmly in his hand, suggesting trust, patience and stillness. Allan’s distinctive stylised form and warm patina give the sculpture a timeless, contemplative quality, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the quiet harmony that can exist between people and the natural world.

This charming figurative sculpture captures a quiet, everyday moment in the garden. Depicting a gardener pausing with watering can in hand, the piece celebrates the simple rituals of tending plants and the gentle rhythm of outdoor work. Allan’s warm, characterful style brings a sense of nostalgia and humanity to the scene, making it both relatable and quietly joyful.

Liam Ball, born Coventry 1964 My work is a mixture of the real and imaginary, with a view to creating sympathy for the idea or subject. A desire to make the work aesthetically pleasing goes some way towards achieving this. I like the idea of telling stories with sculpture, sometimes just a snapshot, a moment within the story and sometimes a whole drama. Found and recycled objects, including reclaimed hardwoods, driftwood, and stone in combination with copper, pewter, brass, paints and dyes are materials I commonly use. As the work has developed new materials such as acrylic and movable parts have been used in some of the work. The use of such parts and materials invites the viewer to interact with the sculpture; perhaps to open a door, spin a propeller or lift up a lid to see what is inside. I am interested in exploring relationships between ideas that have been around for thousands of years and contemporary thinking, which often only appear different due to the use of available technology. The different properties that the materials I use possess means relationships both contrary and harmonious can be created to add further dimensions to the work.
