Sara Ingleby-MacKenzie is a featured artist here at The Cotswold Sculpture Park, having exhibited with us many times over the years. She is well known for her figurative work, including her classy and colourful girls, some of which can be seen in the park this year.
About the Workshop
Sara is offering a hands-on, one-day workshop to introduce you to the fundamentals of sculpting.
This session is designed to give participants the opportunity to try their hand at modelling a sculpture, while learning the key early stages of the sculptural process. The aim of the class is to give you a well rounded idea of how to approach those first steps of creating a sculpture, and enable you to turn your ideas into something physical.
Participants will be using tools and materials that are easily attainable and affordable, allowing you to finish your piece at home and continue developing what you have learnt at your own pace.
This class is all about fun and experimentation. If you have always wanted to try your hand at sculpting, but simply just do not know where to start (or are intimidated by thought!) then this class is for you.
What You’ll Learn
- Introduction to clay modelling techniques
- How to build a simple armature for support
- Developing form and structure in sculpture
- Refining and adding surface detail
- Guidance on drying and finishing your work at home
- Introduction to tools and materials
