    Figurative sculpting with Sara Ingleby-MacKenzie

    Saturday 20th June

    One day class

    All materials provided

£185 for the day – including lunch and tea & coffee

Sara is a featured artist here at the sculpture park and has exhibited with us a lot over the years. She is known for her stylish girls, who always bring a bit of glamour to the park.

    About the Workshop

Sara is offering a hands-on, one-day workshop exploring the fundamentals of figurative sculpture using clay.

This session is designed to give participants the opportunity to try their hand at modelling a sculpture, while learning the key early stages of the sculptural process. Sara will guide you step-by-step, helping you build confidence as you develop your piece from initial structure through to refined form.

To allow time to fully explore each stage, participants will create a small sculpture (approximately 6–8 inches high, depending on the pose), working at a manageable scale that encourages both experimentation and attention to detail.

By the end of the day, you’ll have created your own unique sculpture to take home, along with practical advice on how to dry, refine, and finish your piece once the clay has set.

    What You’ll Learn

    • Introduction to clay modelling techniques
    • How to build a simple armature for support
    • Developing form and structure in sculpture
    • Refining and adding surface detail
    • Guidance on drying and finishing your work at home
