Despair by Jamie Hart – £18,000

    Despair
    Oak
    900 x 700 x 600

    Despair.
Created from the knotted crown of an ancient boundary oak, this piece was sourced locally to the artist in Dorset, left over after the tree was milled many years ago.
Wanting to create a sculpture that conveys the utter hopelessness we may find ourselves in, the
state of mind caused by circumstances that seem too much to cope with. Also the total loss of hope
which at times can drive us on to make furious efforts. Even in the depths of deep despair often
great courage and strength can be found. This unique sculpture is hand finished using a blend of natural oils and waxes allowing this piece to live on in the great outdoors if so desired.

Preservation and aftercare is of great importance and
    always offered.

    Revolver

    Burred Oak
    1200 x 1200 x 300

Created using a single ring of burred oak, cut from an ancient tree in the heart of Dorset. This
unique piece has been a labour of love created over a number of years. Working from A small hole in
the centre and turning daily to create the abstract fluid forms. Revolver embraces the awkwardness
of natural growth, Multiple burred pieces are intrinsically linked with a subtle internal spiral.
Finished using a blend of natural waxes and oils allowing the piece to live on in the great outdoors if
    so desired.

    Ltd Edition Bronze Resin: £3,600

Elysium means ‘a state of Bliss’, this sculpture is inspired by the dream state, that brief moment between dreaming and waking when the world is perfect and the veil between our hopes and dreams is so thin it feels like reality. I imagine her placed by water, dreaming as she dries after a swim. Curled and contented in the sun.

Alamat by Marian Ironmonger – £5,000

    Alamat:  Legend

Edition of 10 in bronze resin

    H64cm x W52cm x D26cm

    £5000

Alamat, is an interpretation of a well-known Philippine legend:  The Origin of the Philippine Islands.

In the beginning, there existed only the boundless sky (Langit), the tranquil sea (Dagat) and, between them, the fickle wind (Hangin) in the form of a bird.

One day the bird grew weary and thought of a way to amuse itself by cunningly pitting the sea against the sky.  In her agitated state, the sea surged, crashing her waves against the sky.  In defence, the sky hurled down rocks to supress the waves, eventually calming the sea.

The bird, gratified, smugly perched on the rocks which eventually formed the Philippine Islands.

  • Siren Song by Damon Price – £3,750

Siren Song by Damon Price – £3,750

    ‘Siren Song’

    Unique edition in bronze.
    Size 60cm 24cm x 16cm
    Price £3,750

This piece is inspired by the poem “Siren Song” by Margaret Atwood.
The poem addresses gender roles, seduction and vanity.

This is the one song everyone
would like to learn: the song
    that is irresistible:

    the song that forces men
    to leap overboard in squadrons
even though they see the beached skulls

    the song nobody knows
because anyone who has heard it
is dead, and the others can't remember.

Shall I tell you the secret
and if I do, will you get me
    out of this bird suit?

    I don't enjoy it here
    squatting on this island
    looking picturesque and mythical

    with these two feathery maniacs,
    I don't enjoy singing
    this trio, fatal and valuable.

I will tell the secret to you,
    to you, only to you.
    Come closer. This song

is a cry for help: Help me!
    Only you, only you can,
    you are unique

    at last. Alas
    it is a boring song
    but it works every time.

Circa (Life size Female Torso by Jane Shaw – £4,700

    CIRCE – Life-size Female Torso

    Also available as
Bronze: £12,500 as limited edition of 9

MATERIAL: BRONZE OR BRONZE RESIN ON OAK PLINTH

MEASUREMENTS: TORSO IS 85CM HIGH, 35 CM WIDE AND 40 CM DEEP

BASE: OAK PLINTH WHICH IS 80CM HIGH AND 35CM SQUARE

    Jane Shaw on this sculpture:
This life-size figurative torso sculpture was a commission to be put in a walled garden in Gloucestershire.  I began this project with a small maquette in wax.  My brief was to make the torso look alluring and bold.  Therefore when I began the  sculpture in clay on a large scale, I twisted the torso to create a feeling of movement and power.  I also left many of my marks created by the tools in the clay, as I did not want the viewer to forget this was a sculpture first and foremost.

I named this bronze figurative sculpture ‘Circe’ after the most powerful enchantresses in Greek mythology.  However, since the days of ancient Greece, Circe’s name has been related to witchcraft, deception and seduction.  But I am hoping this ‘Circe’ is just showing off her female curves and therefore the power of her body creates a lovely figurative torso in a garden, and can be a pleasure to view from every angle, or indeed at the end of a long path.

There is nothing wrong with seduction – it should be celebrated and enjoyed and I hope this bronze life-size torso of the female body will be seen as a great example of positive female power.

KING OF THE CASTLE – LIFE-SIZE JACK RUSSELL

    Jane Shaw on this sculpture:
This little fellow was a pleasure to sculpt to create an indoor or outdoor bronze animal dog sculpture.  It was a commission of a lovely Jack Russell, who was small but bursting  with character and charm.

Jack Russell Terrier, also called Parson Russell Terrier or Parson Jack Russell Terrier, developed in England in the 19th century for hunting foxes both above and below ground. It was named after the Reverend John Russell, a keen hunter who created the breed.  Because they have a broad genetic make-up, they do not breed true to type and so are a strain of working terrier and can vary a great deal in looks!

Whilst this bronze animal sculpture of a terrier dog was  based on a wire-haired Jack Russell, he did have quite long legs, so there was definitely a hint of parsons in him somewhere!

As with all my commissions, I began with a small maquette in wax of the Jack Russell Terrier, and then scaled him up and built an armature of a life-size dog for this terrier breed.  I worked with clay, and built a sturdy looking body, but struggled with the head – often decapitating him and beginning again a number of times. My model was a wire-haired Jack Russell, so his face was not clean cut like many short haired dogs, and he did have a rather unique look which I tried to capture, without loosing the overall feeling of Jack Russell!  Because he had sadly died, I had to borrow another Jack Russell who would often run around my studio, never standing still, and playing with my dogs outside as I continued to sculpt this animal in clay.  Not a very good model for a bronze sculpture, as they never stand still!  But his character shone through which I loved.  I had to include the tilt of the head to one side, which Terriers often portray when they are engaged with you but perhaps don’t fully understand the human command.

  • The Last Bow by Jane Shaw – £3,240

The Last Bow by Jane Shaw – £3,240

THE LAST BOW – Head of a Horse (Outside piece)

    Bronze resin: £3,240
Bronze: £8,000 (as a limited edition of 12)

    Jane Shaw on this sculpture:
The shape of horses heads vary hugely in size, shape, personality and feel.  I never tire of looking at the head of a horse.  It is a subject which has been represented in art through the ages in many shapes and guises.  Ironically, you often see horses heads in the fields, looking down, munching away, or occasionally you may spot them sniffing the ground, before they move onto the ground and role!

I tried to sculpt a horse head on its nose a number of years ago, using plaster and scrim and infact it ended up a terrible mess, as gravity got the better of me, and working out their shape when on the nose I found very hard.  However, I returned to it a few years ago, and worked slowly on the sculpture, often leaving it to lie dormant for many months in my studio, in its raw state of plaster and scrim.  It’s amazing how the eye constantly scans shapes, over time, and develops an understanding of what is right and wrong.  And then during one of the lock downs, I decided to finish the sculpture.

This bronze or resin horse head represents, for me, the last bow.  A passing of time from one place to another.   Perhaps its quite a sad piece, but one of thankfulness and calm.  The horse has had a good life and he has returned to you, to say ‘thank you’ for the last time.

This bronze equestrian sculpture of a head of a horse can be cast in bronze as a limited edition of 12 and can be mounted on a corten steel base which is bespoke to your requirements depending on the space.

It can look spectacular inside the home or in the garden or courtyard.

MATERIAL: BRONZE OR BRONZE RESIN OR IRON RESIN

    MEASUREMENTS: H 47CM L 41CM W 19CM (MEASUREMENTS OF THE HORSE HEAD ONLY)

BASE: STAND ALONE PLINTH (BRONZE RESIN) WITH MEASUREMENTS: 120CM X 15CM X 15CM
