Reclaimed wildfire wood (California), reclaimed pine (Wales), 36”x24”, 2021.

Evidence shows that the Antarctic ice sheets are becoming increasingly unstable, and that the Greenland ice sheets could collapse entirely if global temperatures rise by 1.5C – which could happen as soon as 2030 if current trends persist. With this in mind I produced this piece from wood that I salvaged from the Californian wildfires – another direct effect of climate change. The piece has been sculpted to balance precariously, a narrative that is a literal representation of life as we know it. The heart on top also balances as if it can fall at any moment. The heart that represents our love for life also represents the knowledge we hold for what we need to do to reverse these changes. The materials used are all salvaged from the locality of Californian burn areas and near my studio in North Wales.

Germination Resumption by Glen Farrelly – £1,295

    Germination Resumption

2021, 82x27cm, reclaimed ancient oak beam, reclaimed oak, reclaimed steel

    Glen Farrelly:
The main material for this piece is an old oak beam that I found buried , next to my house in a farmers field. It was completely submerged in soil, eaten by wood munchers and rot had started to set in. Being oak it has a high resilience and I could quickly see the potential it had to become an object to show life. This unwanted house beam, despite being thrown out ,was perfect to show hope. Hope that we can act against the devastating effects of climate change. We may be on the brink of destruction but much like the seeds within we can grow strong but only if we start to nurture what we have.

  • Cutlery Owl by Rich Bindon – £550

Cutlery Owl by Rich Bindon – £550

    Cutlery Owl

    Stainless steel cutlery
    25cm including stand
    Open edition

Rich Bindon on the story behind the sculpture:
“I grew up on a smallholding in Wootton Bassett and spent most of my youth exploring local fields and woodland with my friends; building dens and tree houses, we would often see barn owl’s in the early evening patrolling the hedges and fields, along with tawny owls.

Male Barn Owls would sometimes screech whilst we explored woodland and as kids, it used to terrify us!

I have passed on my love for Owls to my daughter Madi – She has been to the Hawk Conservancy in Andover many times and has participated in the owl experiences on offer.”

  • Songbird by Rich Bindon – £1,150

Songbird by Rich Bindon – £1,150

    Songbird

    Stainless Steel.
    80cm.
    Edition 1-1.

    For outdoor or interior spaces.

    Materials:
Both the Stave lines, notes and 12’’ LP base are made from stainless steel, the singing Reed Warbler is also made from good quality stainless steel cutlery, each note was marked out and cut by hand, the artist made jigs to enable him to bend the staves so they are identical.

The base was bolted to a hand made jig so it could be held in a lathe for the record lines to be added.

    Rich Bindon:
“The notes in the scale are from the 2002 Oasis song ‘Songbird’. (‘’Talking to the Songbird Yesterday’’) Oasis was one of my favourite bands from the 90’s.
I feel that people viewing the piece will instantly understand the connection between a singing bird and the completed piece, with its record LP base and musical notes. The added twist being the notes are from an actual piece of music titled Songbird!”

    Commissions of this piece:
This sculpture could be recreated for unique commissions! eg. as a wedding gift with the ‘first dance’ as the sculptures attached notes. The possibilities are endless!

  • Despair by Jamie Hart – £18,000

Despair by Jamie Hart – £18,000

    Despair
    Oak
    900 x 700 x 600

    Despair.
Created from the knotted crown of an ancient boundary oak, this piece was sourced locally to the artist in Dorset, left over after the tree was milled many years ago.
Wanting to create a sculpture that conveys the utter hopelessness we may find ourselves in, the
state of mind caused by circumstances that seem too much to cope with. Also the total loss of hope
which at times can drive us on to make furious efforts. Even in the depths of deep despair often
great courage and strength can be found. This unique sculpture is hand finished using a blend of natural oils and waxes allowing this piece to live on in the great outdoors if so desired.

Preservation and aftercare is of great importance and
    always offered.

    Revolver

    Burred Oak
    1200 x 1200 x 300

Created using a single ring of burred oak, cut from an ancient tree in the heart of Dorset. This
unique piece has been a labour of love created over a number of years. Working from A small hole in
the centre and turning daily to create the abstract fluid forms. Revolver embraces the awkwardness
of natural growth, Multiple burred pieces are intrinsically linked with a subtle internal spiral.
Finished using a blend of natural waxes and oils allowing the piece to live on in the great outdoors if
    so desired.

    Ltd Edition Bronze Resin: £3,600

Elysium means ‘a state of Bliss’, this sculpture is inspired by the dream state, that brief moment between dreaming and waking when the world is perfect and the veil between our hopes and dreams is so thin it feels like reality. I imagine her placed by water, dreaming as she dries after a swim. Curled and contented in the sun.

  • Alamat by Marian Ironmonger – £5,000

Alamat by Marian Ironmonger – £5,000

    Alamat:  Legend

Edition of 10 in bronze resin

    H64cm x W52cm x D26cm

    £5000

Alamat, is an interpretation of a well-known Philippine legend:  The Origin of the Philippine Islands.

In the beginning, there existed only the boundless sky (Langit), the tranquil sea (Dagat) and, between them, the fickle wind (Hangin) in the form of a bird.

One day the bird grew weary and thought of a way to amuse itself by cunningly pitting the sea against the sky.  In her agitated state, the sea surged, crashing her waves against the sky.  In defence, the sky hurled down rocks to supress the waves, eventually calming the sea.

The bird, gratified, smugly perched on the rocks which eventually formed the Philippine Islands.

  • Siren Song by Damon Price – £3,750

Siren Song by Damon Price – £3,750

    ‘Siren Song’

    Unique edition in bronze.
    Size 60cm 24cm x 16cm
    Price £3,750

This piece is inspired by the poem “Siren Song” by Margaret Atwood.
The poem addresses gender roles, seduction and vanity.

This is the one song everyone
would like to learn: the song
    that is irresistible:

    the song that forces men
    to leap overboard in squadrons
even though they see the beached skulls

    the song nobody knows
because anyone who has heard it
is dead, and the others can't remember.

Shall I tell you the secret
and if I do, will you get me
    out of this bird suit?

    I don't enjoy it here
    squatting on this island
    looking picturesque and mythical

    with these two feathery maniacs,
    I don't enjoy singing
    this trio, fatal and valuable.

I will tell the secret to you,
    to you, only to you.
    Come closer. This song

is a cry for help: Help me!
    Only you, only you can,
    you are unique

    at last. Alas
    it is a boring song
    but it works every time.
