‘Aerosol sprayed with acrylic paint with small sections sprayed with airbrush. 2k Lacquer finish to give gloss and protection. I really like painting famous people who are mainly musicians normally. But I wanted to paint someone that is iconic and known to all ages, someone that is not a musician. Churchill was on TV I believe which was when I had the lightbulb moment. I wanted to make Winston pop arty to make it bright and eye-catching. I love fluorescent colours and thought that would work well with him and the grey and black. It is covered with his quotes, but I really like the quote ‘be a voice’, especially in today’s world where it is easy to be overlooked. There are also graffiti ‘tagged words to give it a Graffiti street art feel, with drips and paint splatters. Power to the people. ‘
