    A slender figure stretches upward to lift a crescent moon form high above their head. The elongated body and textured bronze surface give the piece a sense of strength and grace, while the curved crescent creates a striking contrast against the vertical movement of the figure.

    I have made several moon polishers of different sizes. There is not really an edition number as each is a bespoke design. The first was a request as a Christmas present by my partner Alex Hallowes, so I credit the design idea to her. On the back of this moon is a mouse eating cheese. A larger version had a dog chasing a mouse up the ladder behind the man. Of course it is only because of the hard work of the moon polisher during the day, that the moon, dull as dawn approaches, is ready to shine out again the next night. It is not well known, but the moon polisher has a brother who is a conker polisher. The little men I make have a funny hat and pointed curved shoes. I would love to see what their feet look like.
