Handstand Man Bronze an edition of 9
This piece has been cast in bronze by the Milwyn Foundry in London.
The original stands at 1 metre 20 cms and to produce the bronze editions it was 3D scanned. Following the scanning process a 40cm exact replica was then 3D printed. This was then the model for the casting.
The process is called ‘lost wax’ casting and is several thousand years old. The model is dipped several times to make a mold which is heated up and the model drains away leaving a precise cavity in which the molten bronze then forms in the cast.
The bronze piece is then ‘chased’, patinated for colour and waxed.
The bronze illustrated is no 1 of an edition of 9
