The Gatekeeper is one of Ed Elliott’s most recognised characters in the ‘hooded figure’ series of work. This piece started out as a life size wooden original, with a large walking stick and a bunch of rusty keys hanging from a chain. It created a significant presence in each location I installed it, till it sold to a private collection where it stood next to an old barn.
This bust is a tribute to that original work, one of the artist’s favourite ‘hooded’ pieces and we are officially launching it at the park this Summer! There is a small handheld replica in bronze and resin available from the artist too.
