Flow is the first in a collection of 3 dancers available in bronze. Dance played a big part in both mine and my daughters lives and human anatomy has always held a fascination for me, so the blend of both interests makes perfect subject matter.
My objective in creating the dance sculptures is to capture the moment when the dancer is at full stretch, the muscles show the most tension or at the highest point of a leap. The split second before the body relaxes into a softer, more static shape.
The fabric, or drapery helps to enhance the movement and guide the eye around the body.
The nature of patination means no 2 bronzes will be identical and I’m happy to discuss variations in the patination for new editions. I’m also open to commissions.
Although exhibited outside, my sculptures are intended for interior display.
