    Her striking silhouette features industrial steel mesh, meticulously shaped into the rigid, intricate ruffles of her collar and gown. Hovering above are her signature balloons; hand-formed from the
    same medium and finished in a gloss of candy apple red. Hand-painted with professional-grade acrylics and sealed with a UV protective coating, she is built to withstand the elements of time. She stands as a frozen traveller, an anchor for lost thoughts caught forever in the act of drifting through a daydream.”     – Clare Nicholls

    “I was inspired by the symbolic nature of the humble pinecone. Revered across many cultures, it has appeared alongside Hindu deities, Mexican and Roman gods, and even on Egyptian staffs. The pinecone has long been associated with enlightenment, resurrection, eternal life and regeneration. As the evolutionary precursor to the flower, it opens in a Fibonacci spiral (the Golden Ratio) a pattern found throughout nature, from leaves and flowers to the spirals of galaxies, symbolising harmony, growth and balance.

    In this sculpture, I embedded pinecones within a female bust as she awakens and lifts her gaze to the sky. Is she experiencing enlightenment, transformation, regeneration or something more personal? The moment of awakening is left for the viewer to interpret.” – Brendon Murless

     Frosty Morning is a mosaic cube inspired by the colours of a winter’s frosty morning. It has a gold thread running around each face with two of the corners deliberately broken off to indicate the fragility of the form. 
     
    The cube is made of tile backer board and is mosaiced with vitreous glass tiles and grouted using 3 part epoxy grout.  All materials used are frost proof and are suitable for outdoor display.  The cube sits on a sturdy painted metal stand.
