  • Stargazers by Laura Jane Wylder £4,800

Stargazers by Laura Jane Wylder £4,800

    Stargazers

    Edition of 18

Cold Cast Iron with a rust finish

    Life size

“This dreamy stargazing couple share a mutual connection of true love. There’s a tranquil, content confidence in their connection as they gaze skyward. I wanted to make a life size sculpture with an attractive silhouette, expressing peace within love both close up and from a distance. The bench is raised to allow the option for planting underneath; I imagine they’d look as enchanting in a beautifully planted flower bed as they would a wild flower meadow or amongst long Mediterranean grasses.”  – Laura Jane Wylder

Catch of the Day is a sculpture of a man riding a unicycle. He carries a fishing rod in one hand and a net in the other. His big curved smile of success is mirrored by the curve of catch of the day balanced on top of his hat. It is the only place to carry it as the unicycle has no basket!

  • MacMorland by Connie Adam £8000

    MacMorland by Connie Adam £8000

    Unique

    Steel and galvanised steel wire

    H 234cm x L 287cm x W 72cm

“Named after my Grandfather, Macmorland is a towering Iberian breed, based on a beautiful Breyer Model designed by Brigitte Eberl. His muscular, powerful stance was built up over 4 months until a calm and confident gaze was achieved. His form is built from steel wire and reaches 2.2m in height.

Obsessed with horses from a young age and fortunate to spend a lot of time around them, creating a larger-than-life sculpture of one of my favourite horse breeds occupied an entire gorgeous summer in 2019. Many horses in art are depicted in severe and facially-twisted emotions, a calm yet expressive nature was my aim with this piece.”    – Connie Adam

  • Portal by Lynn Baxter £1,950

    Portal by Lynn Baxter £1,950

Mild steel powder coated in red

    90cm H x 125 cm W and 125cm D with integral base

Portal allows the viewer a glimpse of the landscape in which it sits. The colours of the landscape are enhanced by their relationship with the work. In particular, the greens of grass, trees and plantlife is intensified alongside the red of this work.
The colour is dynamic and energising. Even surrounded by snow, it blazes like a warm fire.

Portal acts as a framing device, focussing the attention, for example, on leaf form and growth patterns, the intensity of flower colours or a glimpse of the distant horizon – it is all a matter of placement.

Portal celebrates ‘place’. Its power partly lies in acting as a frame through which what is seen suggests kinship with painting. It can be sited to act as a focus on a ‘still life’, a ‘flower study’, a ‘pastoral scene’ – or a rather more formal contemporary setting, such as complementing the lines of a building. How you enhance your very own piece of the outdoors is your choice.
