  • Wall Mounted Wire Figure by Rachel Ducker – £2,400

Wall Mounted Wire Figure by Rachel Ducker – £2,400

    Large size.

Well practiced in life drawing and with an appreciation of the human form and the emotional dynamics of human nature, combined with being originally trained as a jeweller, lead her to experiment with wire as a medium for sculpting the human form, capturing something ephemeral, either emotive or active.

Her pieces are untitled due to her belief that everyone sees something different in the sculptures and her lack of suggestion leads them to live that moment she portrays in their own particular way, therefore expanding the piece of work further with every viewer.

Rachel uses no model and she doesn’t form the shape around anything. The posture is first designed and then the pieces are carefully molded by hand and then gradually added to, wrapping wire, layer by layer. Her satisfaction with the posture can be instantaneous or take days and every angle important right to the tip of the finger and to a millimetre of adjustment until just right. She discovered that the slightest movement in the angle of the hand or fingers, or the tilting of the head changes everything the figure is portraying.

  • Balanced On A Knife Edge by Richard Cresswell – £2,800

Balanced On A Knife Edge by Richard Cresswell – £2,800

    Steel, wood and aluminium.

Richard Cresswell: “The world on a knife edge. I recently saw the play ‘Kyoto’ and seeing how money and greed has played such a big part in the current dire situation we find ourselves in and as someone who spends time studying climate change, I felt moved to make my small comment on the situation as I see it and where we are at the moment.”

    Richard Cresswell:
“The Snow geese were in response to watching swans and geese flying in reality and also in slow motion and as always, I was attracted by the beautiful graceful curves and lines their wings and bodies form. The three forms are the three iconic parts of a birds wing beat.

I saw my first and only (so far) pair of these lovely birds as I locked my workshop in the evening after finishing the first goose! I heard geese approaching and stopped to see if my efforts to sculpt them were even close to any goose and to my amazement, it was a pair of snow geese! Which are rare this far down the British isles. They only stayed and circled me for a minute or so, they obviously were not as interested in me as I was in them!”

  • Petra by Min Reid – £3,750 or £1,530 (bronze resin)

Petra by Min Reid – £3,750 or £1,530 (bronze resin)

    PETRA

I have always loved cats, big and small… I am particularly enchanted by the Eurasian Lynx… their beautiful eyes and ears (with rather unique hair tufts), the shape of their heads, their stride… well, pretty much all of their gloriousness!

My personal muse for this sculpture was ‘Petra’, a stunning 21-year-old Eurasian Lynx who until very recently was under the dedicated care at the Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent, England. Sadly Petra passed early 2024, which was a huge loss. Although she led a long and healthy life. I hope this sculpture of Petra pays homage to her grace and magnificence whilst embodying meditation and tranquillity. RIP Petra.

Personally, I would love for this sculpture to also serve as a poignant reminder of the imperative need to protect and cherish the natural world.

Petra has been crafted both in Foundry Bronze, using the Lost Wax Method and the Cold Wax Method (Bronze Resin). Both adorned with handmade Solid Bronze Tufts.

  • Rosso Horse by Jonty Hurwitz – £27,000

Rosso Horse by Jonty Hurwitz – £27,000

    Paint, Copper and Stainless Steel

    40x40x45cm

Jonty Hurwitz’s sculpture is inspired by his early childhood experiences with the animal kingdom and his years spent with horses on the narrow bridle path near his home in the English countryside. It serves as a meditation on freedom by symbolising the suppressed inner nature of domesticated animals. Through this creative work of art, Hurwitz captures the wild spirit of horses, while simultaneously highlighting the irony of a world where they are largely ‘owned’. The sculpture honors the idea that horses, and other domesticated creatures, possess an in-built understanding of independence, freedom and self-sufficiency in spite of the disconnection of modern civilization from nature. This unique artwork explores the bond between the animal and its natural habitat, the power of freedom and its lack, and the ways in which our modern scientific civilization attempts to rein it in.

  • Koru & Totem Ram by Min Reid – £9,000

Koru & Totem Ram by Min Reid – £9,000

    Koru & Totem Ram £9,000

    KORU (pronounced kor-roo)

The KORU (Māori for “loop” or “coil”) holds deep significance and meaning in Māori culture in New Zealand (Aotearoa) with it’s spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond.

New Life, Growth, Strength & Peace

Its shape conveys the idea of perpetual movement while the inner coil suggests returning to the point of origin.

    TOTEM RAM

The Ram embodies determination, power, and leadership. Unafraid of failure, it sees it as a path to greater things. Taking charge of your own life inspires others to step out of their comfort zones and embrace life with courage.

    Strength & Courage

    Be True to Yourself

The horns on Totem Ram signify the KORU, hence the perfect juxtaposition of the two.

    RED

The colour red in Asia is auspicious, associated with life-generating energy (the sun, blood, and fire) and is the colour of celebrations and prosperity. It is also the colour of the blossom of the Pōhutukawa Tree (also known as the New Zealand Christmas tree as it blossoms in December).
