  • Wall Mounted Wire Figure by Rachel Ducker – £2,400

Wall Mounted Wire Figure by Rachel Ducker – £2,400

    Large size.

Well practiced in life drawing and with an appreciation of the human form and the emotional dynamics of human nature, combined with being originally trained as a jeweller, lead her to experiment with wire as a medium for sculpting the human form, capturing something ephemeral, either emotive or active.

Her pieces are untitled due to her belief that everyone sees something different in the sculptures and her lack of suggestion leads them to live that moment she portrays in their own particular way, therefore expanding the piece of work further with every viewer.

Rachel uses no model and she doesn’t form the shape around anything. The posture is first designed and then the pieces are carefully molded by hand and then gradually added to, wrapping wire, layer by layer. Her satisfaction with the posture can be instantaneous or take days and every angle important right to the tip of the finger and to a millimetre of adjustment until just right. She discovered that the slightest movement in the angle of the hand or fingers, or the tilting of the head changes everything the figure is portraying.

  • Granny Takes A Trip by Annie Heyworth – £1,200

Granny Takes A Trip by Annie Heyworth – £1,200

    Annie on her work:

This dress was inspired by the boutique which was opened in the Kings Rd, London in the 1960s.
The dress is covered in weird and fantastical images, crawling rubber babies, and creeping plants. It is made from sewn paper and appliquéd with old book images and re used objects, mostly from my own childhood.

Standing Of The Sun by Glen Farrelly – £1,595

    Oak

‘Standing of the Sun’, made during the festival of the summer solstice. Unwanted oak slab, Yakisugi and cold pressed plant oil.
Oak is the tree of the solstice, it’s leaves are used for crowns and it’s wood for ceremonial fires. This is a time of hope and beginnings, at time when the earth rewards us with it’s bounty. Let’s make sure we treat mother earth with love.

  • Balanced On A Knife Edge by Richard Cresswell – £2,800

Balanced On A Knife Edge by Richard Cresswell – £2,800

    Steel, wood and aluminium.

Richard Cresswell: “The world on a knife edge. I recently saw the play ‘Kyoto’ and seeing how money and greed has played such a big part in the current dire situation we find ourselves in and as someone who spends time studying climate change, I felt moved to make my small comment on the situation as I see it and where we are at the moment.”

    Richard Cresswell:
“The Snow geese were in response to watching swans and geese flying in reality and also in slow motion and as always, I was attracted by the beautiful graceful curves and lines their wings and bodies form. The three forms are the three iconic parts of a birds wing beat.

I saw my first and only (so far) pair of these lovely birds as I locked my workshop in the evening after finishing the first goose! I heard geese approaching and stopped to see if my efforts to sculpt them were even close to any goose and to my amazement, it was a pair of snow geese! Which are rare this far down the British isles. They only stayed and circled me for a minute or so, they obviously were not as interested in me as I was in them!”

  • Sorrow Abating by Jamie Hart – £9,500

Sorrow Abating by Jamie Hart – £9,500

    English Oak root

    1700x900x1200cm

    Jamie on this piece:

Sorrow abating like the tide of time, is a piece that I have worked on and off over several
months as I do with much of my work. The root itself was extremely hard to carve and to
place the head end onto the grain was a challenge but my choice. The root itself was
dug up a few miles from my studio in an ancient Coppice woodland, the original tree
felled many years ago. Circa (1750 -1800) the darkness of the oak and flowing root
forms led me to create this sculpture.

This unique sculpture is hand made and finished using a blend of natural oils and waxes
allowing this piece to live on in the great outdoors if so desired. Preservation and aftercare is of significant importance and always offered.
