  • Artist Events

We have lots of artists joining us throughout this season. Take a look at who is here on what day and come along and meet them!

    MAY

    Thursday 29th May

    MARTIN AND VAL ADAMSON

Both Martin and Val are very popular artists here at the park. They will be joining us for a demo to show how they approach their work.

They will be here for the day and will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Martin is responsible for a few pieces in our exhibition this year, including Sloth & Baby, Hide & Seek and his Mouse & Nut Post

Val Adamson has been an exhibiting artist with us for many years. Although she does not have any pieces in our outdoor exhibition this year, she does have some pieces on show in our gallery.

She is known for her work that is inspired by the dramatic sculptural hair forms of tribal African women which she combines with masks and art works from the same tribes.

She works in clay and casts her sculptures in bronze or bronze resin.

    JUNE

    Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th June

    STONE SCULPTING WEEKEND!

We are lucky enough to be joined by 3 (yes, 3!) talented stone sculptors over this weekend.

PIOTR GARGAS & MARTIN CASH will be set up in our mediterranean area where they will be demonstrating how they turn a block of stone into a beautiful piece of sculpture. Both artists are incredibly skilled in their craft and they bring with them a wealth of knowledge and a willingness to share. Come and join them and watch them work their magic.

Piotr is exhibiting his pieces Coral Beauty, Elpis and Swirl in this year’s exhibition. Martin is showing his pieces Sporangia and Chasing the Curve.

    JAN BRUCE

Also joining us on our Stone weekend is Jan Bruce. Jan has recently been featured on BBC’s Make It At Market programme, which saw him transform his passion for carving into a career.

Jan loves the idea of making his art accessible and understandable to anyone, so he tries to express universally relatable emotions in his carvings.

We are lucky enough to be exhibiting his pieces Safe, One and Hug in the exhibiton this year. Come down and meet him!

  • Golden Hour Viewing

    Golden Hour Viewing

Introducing our new Sculpture Park Lates evenings on the last Friday of every month. Come and enjoy the evening sun in the “Golden Hour”.

The golden hour is the period of time after the sunsets but before night falls. It is favoured by artists and photographers as the light has a warmer and redder effect, creating a “glow” in the atmosphere.

We want to share the park in this beautiful light with you all!

Our gates will be open until 9pm. Pop down and see us after your busy day and unwind in the serenity of the park in the evening light.

Food will be available from the Poppin Tearoom and a bar will be on site selling beer, wine and soft drinks.

    Golden Hour Viewing Dates

    Bronze

    Edition of 9

    46cm H x 44cm W x 15cm D

Mike specializes in creating sculptures of dancers, athletes, figures in motion, and nudes. His work is primarily modelled in clay or Chavant before being cast in bronze, often in small editions or as one-of-a-kind pieces. During the casting process, particularly at the wax stage, he often alters small details like clothing, making each piece unique. Mike’s deep passion for human anatomy plays a central role in his process, and each sculpture requires extensive research to ensure anatomical accuracy. A significant source of inspiration for his evocative works comes from his experiences with the London Contemporary Dance and Ballet Rambert, which is reflected in the grace and beauty of his traditional figurative sculptures.
